I just got home from spending 4 nights in your hotel and wanted to let you know that it was truly a wonderful place to stay, especially for a music lover like myself. The r&r was fantastic yet there was enough going on so as not to become boring. The locals are great people as well and truly add to the enjoyment of the stay.
I have travelled a lot with countless hotel stays, but this was definitely one to remember and there is no doubt that I will be back upon first opportunity.

We recently had our wedding at the Rhinecliff, it was incredible! The venue is well maintained, the scale and furnishing are perfect for an intimate event for family and friends. It is exactly what we wanted for our wedding. The views of the Hudson River, Mountains, and Roundout Lighthouse are stunning.
The food was delicious (made from local NY ingredients). The Rhinecliff has a great restaurant that we've ate at many times and loved, we were happy to find that our wedding event had the same quality of food and service! Our guests have said that the wait staff was extremely attentive, the family style meal worked perfectly; the staff made sure that no one ran out of food. Wine, which was included in our package, was always being poured, glasses were never empty. The bar tenders were professional and personable as well. Our guests had an amazing time, we are still hearing about how great the event was.
During our planning stages prior to the wedding, there had been a turn over of event coordinators, but the owner himself, James, made sure that we received "The Rhinecliff experience" as he put it himself. He kept everyone in good spirits, and seemed personally invested in the success of our wedding event. At times, we felt as if he were a part of the family!

Jeffrey,
Thank you so much for assisting me with Brandon and Amy's rehearsal dinner. The setting was beautiful--you are fortunate to have such a lovely venue. The food and service were memorable, and I couldn't have
asked for more ease in the planning with your assistance. If ever I get a chance to recommend it, I will; and, I'm sure that Brandon and Amy will be advocates.
The entire weekend was a memorable one! We did get a chance after the wedding to do some biking in the New Paltz area and some hiking. We will keep Rhinecliff Hotel in our files if we should get the opportunity for future trips. I'd love to stay at the hotel.

Hi, Just wanted to say it was our first time to your inn and wanted to tell you how nice our visit was...Sunday was a beautiful day (rare-no rain!).
We had the "Halibut Hash W/Mushroom & Sherry Sauce..it was so good. I had the cherry shortcake, don't think I have ever tasted anything so good, the biscuit was so light...
Wondered if you would share the hash recipe...Whenever I make anything with fish, salmon cakes, etc. they taste so fishy....you would hardly have know it was fish in that croquette. We certainly plan on coming back for some of your other special dishes.
Thanks for a delightful evening on the river.

Jeffrey,
Thanks so much for all your help planning the party for my parents
last Saturday. Everything was perfect! The room looked great and
everyone raved about the food. The bartenders and the waiters were
friendly and attentive. Most importantly, my parents had a great
time. Thank you!
Best
Cara
What a wonderful evening. The entertainment was fantastic and the food was wonderful. The waiters and waitresses were very nice and helpful. Everything went without a hitch, except for the boom box but those things happen. The dancers stayed with it very smoothly. Jonathan Kruk could talk all night, yes? Jeremy Freeman could play those pipes, huh! It was a very enjoyable night. I look forward to other events you may have.
Sincerely

Thank you very much for a fantastic evening of music, dancing and dining this past Saturday. (12/13/08) I forget the official name of the event, but, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the occasion! My wife loves opportunities to dress up and dance, as do I. However, as Tivoli residents, typically to enjoy this type of evening out we have to travel at least 2 hours to NYC, Saratoga, or the Crooked Lake Hotel in Averill Park, New York, (in past times) because there is a shortage of such events in our immediate vicinity of the mid-Hudson Valley. Yet you have this beautifully renovated hotel – it’s gorgeous, right on the Hudson River with fantastic views, and you willingly provide fine events for the general public. Add to this the fact that you are a “stones throw” from our home, and well, it’s great! (yippee!)
Your hospitality and good planning made for a fantastic evening, good food – a buffet table, champagne, a live band upstairs, a DJ downstairs and simply a fun evening. Everyone was dressed so sharp (black tie & flapper) My wife and I hope you will continue to provide such nice events there at your hotel.
Again, all the best!

My wife and I have just returned to Woodstock after having your advertised "Thanksgiving Lunch."
First, a comment regarding "Truth In Advertising" as it relates to your "lunch" statement in your ad. There is no way that meal can be considered a lunch! There was so much food that our table was completely covered with serving dishes.
Second, not only were the portions more than enough, the food was excellent from the appetizers to the dessert (the gingered pear-cranberry tart was especially superb).
Our compliments to not only the chef but to the dining room personnel and the servers - our reservation was for the 2:15pm serving; we were seated at 2:15 exactly having waited just minutes at the bar where the bartender served us the mulled wine.
Incidentally, the last time I was served at the bar in the Rhinecliff was one of the Irish "jam sessions" on a Sunday many years ago. We used to enjoy those sessions and the place would swing to the point where I feared for our safety thinking the exposed pipes would collapse from the wall!
What a renovation! Thank you for restoring the Rhinecliff to its present state - a fantastic job! May you all have much success in this venture!
Again, great food, great service, fair price, nice people....a combination that will bring us back to the Rhinecliff!

Fred and I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how wonderful our stay was at the Rhinecliff. You did a magnificent job on the renovations right down to the smallest detail. Our room was perfect and I especially enjoyed the rain forest shower. Very impressive. The scenery was breathtaking and we loved the trains!
I am only sorry we didn’t get to spend more time with you and I am also sorry I didn’t get in the kitchen with your chef but we will be returning for sure and hopefully the next time I’ll be able to put my chef hat on! LOL
Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

The view is incredible, the renovations of the rooms and bathrooms were done to a fantastic standard (I especially like the plank floors) and the property is full of nice touches (like the wine rack you are building) that will really make it very special. It might have been expensive to do, but you ended up with a very fine boutique hotel. Even the breakfast service was outstanding; the food and service as well as the location. I've stayed at many, many boutique hotels, and you really seem to have gotten it "right".
Anyway, congratulations on getting it opened. It really is a great spot, and we were very, very happy to have chosen it...it is clearly the finest hotel in the area. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat (and likely will). If the restaurant is anything like the rest of the hotel, it's going to be an amazing combination.
Cheers,
Lawrence
